Hi, my name is Mieke (pronounced Mee-kah) and I am the owner of Flourish Plantscapes. I was raised in Chico in a family that always enjoyed nature and the outdoors. My love of plants and animals was apparent from an early age and that inspired me to get my Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture from CSUC. I spent the next four years after college working in the Ag Production industry with grapes, walnuts, almonds and rice.
Later, I made a shift into working at a local nursery. I enjoyed every aspect of the nursery life, whether it be caring for a huge variety of landscape plants, vegetables and houseplants, or working with the customers. After a few years, I decided to pursue my dream of owning my own business and that is when Flourish Plantscapes was born.
I have a passion for landscape design and a deep knowledge of plants. I enjoy getting to know my clients and helping them create the atmosphere that they want for their workplace or home.

Whitney is an essential part of the Flourish Plantscapes team and brings a thoughtful, detail-oriented approach to every property we care for. She’s hardworking, reliable, and genuinely cares about doing things well, whether that’s detailed plant care, cleanup, or helping bring larger projects together. Clients love her friendly personality, and she has a great eye for the little details that make a landscape feel polished, healthy, and cared for.
Whitney grew up in rural Butte County and graduated from CSU Chico. Outside of Flourish, she’s an avid outdoor enthusiast and serves as a lead coach for the local youth mountain bike team, North State Composite. When she’s not out on a job site, you can usually find her riding her bike or spending time tending to her own plants and animals.

Ryder is our four-legged field supervisor and full-time morale booster at Flourish Plantscapes. As a highly trained border collie, he takes his job duties very seriously. You are bound to witness expert-level frisbee catching and thorough stick and debris cleanup around job sites when Ryder is around. He can usually be found making rounds, offering frisbees to clients, and ensuring every landscape gets his paw of approval.
