About Me

Hi, my name is Mieke (pronounced Mee-kah). I was raised in Chico in a family that always enjoyed nature and the outdoors. My love of plants and animals was apparent from an early age and that inspired me to get my Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture from CSUC. I spent the next four years after college working in the Ag Production industry with grapes, walnuts, almonds and rice.

Later, I made a shift into working at a local nursery. I enjoyed every aspect of the nursery life, whether it be caring for a huge variety of landscape plants, vegetables and houseplants, or working with the customers. After a few years, I decided to pursue my dream of owning my own business and that is when Flourish Plantscapes was born.

I have a passion for landscape design and a deep knowledge of plants. I enjoy getting to know my clients and helping them create the atmosphere that they want for their workplace or home.
